Official university college

CÁMARABILBAO University Business School

This official university college, belonging to the Bilbao Chamber of Commerce, was set up in 1990 with the main objective of contributing to the development of companies in the surrounding area by the training of highly-qualified professionals. Since 1998 it has been an accredited centre of the University of The Basque Country.

This project, therefore, is focused on young people like you, who are able to form part of a new generation of professionals and managers who will have to lead our companies in the future, in a market which is becoming more and more competitive and international.

Origins

The origins of the centre date back to 1990, when the Chamber launched the project called “Superior School of Marketing”, at its Alameda Recalde premises, so as to meet the demand for a professional profile which companies required and that the traditional university offer did not cover: experts in market analysis and development.

First class

1994
The first class of students graduated at the end of 1994, with a degree in integration in the employment market which surpassed even the most optimistic expectations.

Affiliation to the UPV/EHU

1998
The Chamber initiated contacts with the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unlbertsitatea for the purposes of officialising the studies, which culminated in the summer of 1998 with its designation as an Affiliated Centre for said University.

New facilities

2003
In September 2003, the new training facilities of the Chamber of Commerce were inaugurated, at the intersection of the streets calle Alameda Recalde and calle Licenciado Poza, where likewise is located the University School, precisely in the same building where this project commenced its journey.

Bologna Reform

2010
With the creation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), better known as the “Bologna Reform”, the School designed, under its own criteria, the Business Management and Marketing Degree, in which all energy as regard its vocation and experience was poured into. The new Study programme was launched in September 2010.

Facilities

The training centre of the Chamber of Bilbao has 35 classrooms with audiovisual equipment, 1 computer room with 49 computers and 10 meeting rooms, 8 of which with computer equipment. It also has 1 library – study lounge with seating capacity for 80 people, 1 events room, for 100 people and 1 break area.
